A Little Bit of Venom
There is nothing cute, hip, or compelling about the reflexive or even considered use of the word “automagic”1 (and its more common derivative, “automagically”). The use of that term is always at least partially based on a speaker’s narcissistic fascination with his or her own cluelessness, an ignorance so profound the speaker is moved to label a technology automagic!
